Salmon Bay packages and distributes a wide variety of sacked sand, gravel and aggregate products. These materials are suitable for projects ranging from Sand Blasting to Drain Fields. The aggregates that we sack at our Seattle facility are all fresh water washed and include; Plaster and Masons Fine Sand, Pea Gravel, 1” Minus Gravel, 5/8” Minus Crushed Gravel and 5/8”-3/8” Clean Crushed. In addition, we can load 1 yard bulk bags with any of our materials or a blend of sand and gravel if required. We also stock Dry Sand, Silica Sand, Sand Blasting Media and Perlite. The bags generally yield 1 cubic foot of material and weigh between 80 to 100 pounds. If you need a bag, a pallet or a truck load of sacked sand or gravel, Salmon Bay Sand & Gravel can meet your needs.
1” Minus Gravel ASTM C33 & WSDOT/AASHTO #57
The basic concrete aggregate, excellent drainage gravel, suitable for landscaping Graded from 1″ to pea gravel…minimal sand…not well suited for drive or walk areas, since material does not compact.
Pea Gravel
Typically used in hand mixed or portable mixer “field produced” concrete, as well as drainage, landscaping and children’s play areas. Graded from 3/8” to ¼”….minimal sand content. Not suited for drive or walk areas, because material does not compact, similar to marbles
Plaster or Masons Fine Sand ASTM C897 & ASTM C144
Used in Plaster, Stucco and Mortar mixes. Also used as a base for pavers, lawn leveling and sand box sand. Available in Wet or Dry form
5/8 Minus Crushed Gravel CSTC
This crushed gravel is primarily used for driveways and walkways. Best if not applied more than 2”in depth. Makes a stable sub-grade under concrete and pavers. 5/8” to dust in particle size. Excellent compact ability.
5/8-3/8 Clean (no minus) Crushed Type 22 Pipe Bedding Gravel
Used primarily as bedding gravel for plumbing and sewer pipe. The required gravel for PVC pipe bedding in the city of Seattle. Also makes good sub-grade for concrete.
Dry Sand
#1 Fine and #0 Superfine sand. Used in making mortar, tuck pointing, sand blasting and dry-set paver joints
Tube Sand
Dry sand used for weight/ballast and flood control. 70lb poly-woven tube bag

Green Diamond Sandblasting Abrasive
Green Diamond Sand Products is one of the leading specialty sand manufacturers in the United States. The Green Diamond name represents the natural green color and the hardness of diamonds. Salmon Bay carries Green Diamond in a variety of grits for various surfaces and materials
Kleen Blast Sandblasting Media
Kleen Blast grit is a dust and silica free vitreous smelter slag. It is economical, fast cutting, and environmentally safe. Available in a variety of abrasive grits.
Supreme Perlite
Supreme Perlite manufactures a variety of Perlite products for horticultural, industrial and construction applications Perlite is a lightweight “volcanic” sand used in plaster, fireproofing and masonry insulation (4 cubic foot sack).
